Hello, as you mighthave guessedmy name is Rachel and this is my page becauseI am part of the Reading Directions Wiki. This is where I will displaymy work that I complete inReading groups.
Fotobabble is something I will use during reading groups that I hope to put on my wiki page. You upload a picture or front cover of a book and you record your voice on the computer. When you play it back it should show the picture and play the recording of your voice.
'Behind the Scenes'
I did a reading activity with a friend who is also on this wiki (Julia) and it was called 'Behind the Scenes'. There were a few links to choose from that led us to a picture or video. We had to look at it and answer some questions we already had. Below is a link to the word document that I did it on.
AUDIOBOO is another web tool that is possible for me to be using. It's like Fotobabble and it does the same thing as Fotobabble but it's just a different website.
In our Reading groups we had to record a passage from our book we were currently reading. We had to choose out of Fotobabble or Audio. I chose Audio Boo.
How effective was my tool, in this case audioboo?
I forgot my password and reading passage, but audioboo itself was constantly helpful towards my work.
How has this activity helped me to think about and improve my oral reading?
I have developed skills in which I didn't think I had because I'm not much of a speaker.
What difficulties did I have?
Sometimes the program or this wiki wouldn't log on or load quick enough, so I couldn't do it. Also sometimes when I was trying to record the microphone wouldn't pick up my voice or it was too noisy in the background.
Quiz:
Quiz Reflection Questions
Explain the task:
We had to compare and choose an online quiz to create. My group chose Quiz Reveloution although we compared PollDaddy as well.
What did you enjoy most about this task?
Creating the answers becuase one was right, two were sort-of/could-be answers and the last one was a silly answer that was totally out of the picture.
What was your biggest challenge?
Saving and embedding the quiz onto our wiki because it wouldn't save. Also when we have finished our quiz it told us we had to pay $5.99 if we wanted to embed it so we just used a link.
Which skill did you find the most useful?
My question generating skills because I could think of good answers and use them in the correct tense.
List 2 ways this task could help you in your future learning?
